Report your Sightings!
We thank you for taking the time to report any shark sightings during diving or boating activities. The data you supply will be used for different aspects of the the overall project:
  • Complementary sightings of sharks with tags and/or transmiters will allow for a more complete record of movements and habitat utilization by these sharks;
  • To investigate and monitor the numbers and distribution of some of the more common shark species along our coasts;
  • To determine the probability of underwater encounters with sharks at various diving sites;

We would appreciate if you could supply any photographs or video footage of your encounter. This could help with the identification of the shark's identity and/or its species.

If you contribute on a regular basis, we will keep you informed with a newsletter of the outcomes of this project.

Please fill in the different questionnaire sections below constituting a full sighting report.

This report page is dedicated to Hery Read from Knysna who reported a White Shark with an Ultrasonic Transmitter while diving.
